The Good Karma List Machine was originally developed by Frank Kern. The concept of the Good Karma List Machine is that as you keep giving people free stuff they help you build your list.
The main idea is that you work with two good giveaways, A and B. Let’s say you want to offer a free report, and also a video, as a second giveaway. In order to get the free report, people sign up to your list. And now comes the twist. If they also want to receive the video (or whatever you second giveaway is), they need to get 3 people to sign up to the first giveaway. As a reward, they then get the second giveaway. It’s a little like a cross between list management and affiliate system.
Unfortunately the software that Frank Kern was so buggy he had to abandon it. So he asked Jeremy Shoemaker of Shoemoney to take a look at it. Jeremy came up with a version that worked, but it was designed for marketers, and not for bloggers. It was set up to work on new marketing website, and not on blogs.
With the help of A-List Blogger Club member Satish, we’ve been able to come up with a version especially for bloggers. The software now allows you to set up the Good Karma List Machine on your own blog.
Note: After testing the GKLM for several weeks, the results are not conclusive. Below are the stats gathered after 15 weeks.
The pink line shows all users, the black line are the confirmed users, and the yellow line are the people who reached the reward. You can see that after initial growth, the line flattens out.
Note: After doing some more testing, it seems that a gremlin has got into the system. That would explain the flattening off.
